If you do not know what the jacket is, it is simply an apparel that is worn above the clothes and usually covers from the neck to the waist. It is usually long sleeved though we have some sleeveless jackets also. Length of the jackets is also short to cover up to the waist of the user. This rule is not very particular since there are even some other jackets that are quite long. The only time that the jackets come in handy is during the harsh weather. 

However, these days, jackets made of pure cotton that make the wearer look stylish are worn more for their ability to make a fashion statement than their functionality.

In order to make sure that one is safe from the random rains and always keeping dry, then the light weight jackets might be just the thing for you. For those who remain outdoors most of the time, such lightweight and water proof jackets are extremely useful as they can keep them in their backpacks or in their cars or bikes. This is the particular jacket that is usually worn by the athletes, campers, cyclists and even walkers. 

But I do want to say something about the Commander style jacket. It is their most expensive and quite a popular jacket, Fox Creek tells me. Their least expensive is their Vented Racing jacket. I think that is their most popular jacket because of the price. Any Fox Creek motorcycle jacket is expensive, but the Vented Racing style jacket is the least expensive. I had a jacket like that previously, and I just wanted something different. The Commander caught my fancy for several reasons. One, it didn't look completely like the classic motorcycle jacket with the epaulets, belt, and all the metal snap buttons. Yet it had some of those touches. I also liked the collar - without the visible snap buttons - that could be folded up when it got colder. Then there was the option of being able to insert armor if I chose to do so. I have not done that yet and may never. That is not important. What IS important is that I have that flexibility, and it would probably be a very good idea. It is there if I want it. Two other Fox Creek jacket have this feature too, but it will likely not be in any of the traditional style black leather jackets that anyone else sells. This gave me the alternative that sport bikers have with their textile jackets. But I WANT a leather jacket, and this is an especially nice option you wont find on 99% of them.

Among the most functional jackets, you will find the military jacket as it even comes with quite a number of extra pockets. With such jackets, one will be kept wrapped up and still snugly warm. 

The difference between a jacket and a coat lies in the fact that jackets are considered a bit more casual than coats. Coats usually are buttoned down while jackets have a zip fastener. When it comes to the coats, you will find that the are not made of water proof material but the jackets are water proof since they mainly provide warmth and coziness. Jackets tend to be more colorful also with ladies jackets being extremely colorful and attractive. And yes, jackets tend to be shorter than coats though different types of jackets have different lengths with some denim jackets being too short and not even coming to the waist of the lady wearing them. There are particularly a number of jersey whose main function is to keep the wearer warm and they do not focus on the fashion aspect. 

You can buy motorcycle jackets almost anywhere. At motorcycle rallies, you will find them by the millions. Some of them aren't too bad, but most of them are. They are made of really thin to medium leather and sometimes feel like plastic. I think they are made in China, Japan, or someplace like that. Fox Creek jackets are made in the USA, and I THINK they use several vendors to make them to their specifications. Regardless, they have a lifetime warranty. A person will buy one of these lesser jackets because he doesn't have much money or doesn't want to put that much into a jacket. But once you decide what your style of bike is, who you are, and if you are really going to stay in this sport and lifestyle, then you will eventually upgrade to a quality jacket that can be used for any and every occasion. The helmet and the jacket are two of the three basic safety items, feet protection being the third. If you will feel or pick up a Fox Creek jacket and can make a comparison with your average jacket that motorcycle stores sell, you will know immediately that you are dealing with two different categories of leather jackets. They are thick, heavy, and buttery soft, which is the character of naked leather. It is almost "there is Fox Creek, and then there is everybody else."

As for the workers that would like to keep warm but still able to continue with their work, there is the work jacket that is there and it has a characteristic light weight for mobility.

When it comes to the jacket that will be able to provide the much needed protection, the down jackets are certainly the best. Chilly winters.

In case you are in an environment that is very cold and snowy and even not forgetting windy, you should go for the ones that have got duck feathers particularly the breast feathers as they are known to have great thermal insulation.
